Manus parent raises more than $500m after returning to independence

Boyu Capital and IDG Capital co-led Butterfly Effect’s financing, with Tencent, HSG and ZhenFund participating.

Butterfly Effect, the parent company of Manus, announced on October 8 that it had raised more than $500 million. Boyu Capital and IDG Capital co-led the round, with existing shareholders Tencent, HSG and ZhenFund participating.

The financing is the company’s first since it resumed independent operations following the unwind of Meta’s acquisition. Butterfly Effect said it would continue hiring domestically and internationally as it develops its AI-agent products.

The company did not disclose a final valuation. Reports of a $4 billion valuation came from earlier fundraising talks, while the announced financing confirms the new capital and participating investors.
