InspectRail secures €1.5 million to scale AI rail monitoring
Sensors on in-service trains give operators a continuous view of track and overhead-line conditions.
Inspection during normal service
InspectRail installs sensor systems on trains already running scheduled routes. Computer vision and AI process the captured data to assess track, overhead lines, communications and surrounding railway infrastructure. The approach expands inspection coverage without dedicating separate survey trains to every route.
The €1.5 million package combines equity and debt. SPRI names four equity participants and four debt providers, without splitting the amounts. It says the capital will support market entry, continued technology development and the infrastructure needed to deploy the system at scale.
From measurements to maintenance planning
Rail operators and infrastructure managers can use recurring measurements to spot changing conditions and plan preventive work. InspectRail’s system gathers those observations while trains operate, connecting monitoring to the maintenance decisions that keep lines in service.
