ICON closes $56m Series C first close for construction printing

Norwest and Tiger Global co-lead the financing as ICON develops its multi-storey printing system for builders.

ICON has closed $56 million in the first close of its Series C, co-led by Norwest and Tiger Global. CAZ Investments, LENx, Moderne Ventures, Oakhouse Partners and Overmatch also participated.

The company plans to develop Phoenix, its multi-storey robotic printing system, for use by other builders. Norwest says the system pairs its construction robotics with a low-carbon building material.

Transaction counsel Latham & Watkins confirmed the first close and said up to $75 million of additional funding was planned. That prospective capital is separate from the $56 million already closed.
