Firecrawl raises $75m Series B for web data and retrieval tools
Smash Capital led the round for APIs that give AI systems structured information from live websites and specialized data sources.
Bringing external information into agent workflows
Firecrawl’s API lets applications search, scrape and crawl websites, then returns machine-readable content for retrieval and research. Its Alexandria interface brings the web together with sources such as scientific papers, developer documentation and government records.
The company plans to deepen its indexes and retrieval systems, add direct connections to first-party sources and build payment infrastructure for knowledge contributors. Those tools are intended to help AI agents work with current external information while providing a route for source owners to be compensated.
