Elekta secures EIB loan of up to €100m for cancer-treatment research

The financing covers up to half of a roughly €200m research programme running from 2026 to 2029.

Financing a multi-year development programme

Most of the programme will be carried out in Sweden and the Netherlands. EIB places the financing within its TechEU initiative, which supports investment in strategic technologies and innovation.

The research aims to improve treatment precision and clinical efficiency as healthcare providers face rising demand for cancer care. Elekta’s finance chief said the loan adds flexibility for the company’s long-term innovation spending.
