Efficient Computer raises $100 million to increase chip shipments
The additional funding will help the processor startup move its early products into higher-volume delivery.
How the product works
Efficient Computer is building general-purpose data-flow processors with supporting software tools. The architecture schedules work as data becomes available, a design the company says can improve speed and energy efficiency compared with conventional processors.
What the funding enables
The company is shipping initial chips for applications including drones and small robots. Its new funding is intended to increase shipments through next year, giving early customers a path to deploy the processors while the startup scales production.
