Doroth raises $4.5 million in a round led by Loccus
The Brazilian deeptech builds lab-on-chip molecular tests that help agricultural businesses detect pathogens and monitor biological crop treatments closer to where field decisions are made.
Testing crop biology closer to the field
Doroth combines microfluidic chips with molecular methods such as LAMP to prepare samples and amplify genetic material in one workflow. Its tests can identify plant pathogens and track biological crop-management programs, giving agribusinesses, agricultural input companies and resellers information to guide treatment decisions.
A manufacturing partner joins the round
Loccus brings molecular-diagnostics manufacturing, regulatory and distribution experience to the partnership. That infrastructure complements Doroth’s testing platform and creates a route to move its specialized assays from development toward wider agricultural and food testing.
