Cura Climate secures $10m for low-carbon cement technology
Zacua Ventures leads financing for an Alberta pilot plant, demonstration engineering and team expansion.
Cura Climate announced $10 million in financing on 17 September 2026. Zacua Ventures led the round, with Sandpiper Ventures, Amplify Capital and Vantage Futures participating.
CURA uses an electrically driven process to break down limestone, producing low-carbon calcium for cement and a concentrated carbon dioxide stream. It is designed to work alongside existing cement and lime facilities.
The capital will fund construction and commissioning of a 100-tonne-per-year pilot plant in Taber, Alberta, engineering for a 30,000-tonne-per-year demonstration facility, and expansion of its technical and business teams.
