Clastix raises €2.9m seed with Mistral AI as both adopter and investor

CDP Venture Capital led the company’s first external financing for Kubernetes infrastructure software, with Vertis SGR also participating.

Operating many Kubernetes clusters can mean duplicating the infrastructure that manages each one. Clastix’s open-source Kamaji hosts multiple control planes on shared management infrastructure. Its commercial kMetal platform adds provisioning, quotas, upgrades and monitoring, allowing platform teams to offer separate tenant environments while governing the fleet centrally.

Mistral AI’s participation follows actual use of the technology. CTO Timothée Lacroix identifies Clastix as infrastructure supporting Mistral’s training and inference workloads. That connection gives the financing a concrete commercial context: a customer running demanding AI systems is also backing the vendor. Kamaji remains available under the Apache 2.0 open-source license.

What the funding supports

  • Develop kMetal and AI-scale infrastructure capabilities
  • Expand product, customer success and engineering teams
  • Grow commercial operations
