Cemvision selected for EU grant of up to €27.5m for Latvian cement plant
The Swedish company will prepare a grant agreement for its first commercial-scale plant.
Conditional grant selection
Cemvision announced on October 19 that its RE-MENT project had been selected for an EU Innovation Fund grant of up to €27.5 million. It will now prepare the agreement with CINEA, with signing expected between November 2026 and March 2027.
The planned Latvian plant is designed to produce up to 500,000 tonnes of low-carbon cement annually. Cemvision combines industrial by-products, including steel-industry slags, with electrified processing to reduce the emissions associated with conventional cement production.
