BrainChild Bio raises $116M Series A for CNS cancer therapies
Its local-delivery approach is designed to reach central nervous system tumors while limiting systemic exposure.
CAR T-cell therapy delivered close to the tumor
BrainChild Bio engineers immune cells to recognize tumor antigens and delivers them into cerebrospinal fluid through an implanted reservoir and catheter. The access point allows repeat infusions and is intended to address the challenge of reaching tumors behind the blood-brain barrier while reducing exposure elsewhere in the body.
The clinical-stage company is developing treatments for pediatric brain cancer and glioblastoma, central nervous system tumors with limited treatment options.
