BlueWX raises new Series A extension funding for weather forecasts
The Japanese company uses measured data and deep learning to forecast turbulence and local wind conditions for airlines and power operators.
Forecasts shaped for operating conditions
BlueWX combines weather observations with deep learning to predict wind at a local scale. Airlines use its turbulence forecasts in operational planning, while the company has run pilots with power companies to predict ground-level wind for energy operations.
The company says a major Japanese airline collaboration helped establish its turbulence forecasting product and that power-sector pilots have cut prediction error by half compared with earlier models. It is now adapting the forecasting systems and data-delivery tools for broader international use.
