Baselayer raises $35 million Series A led by M13

Torch Capital, Picus, Afore Capital and Socure’s Matt Thompson participated as Baselayer launched identity checks for AI agents.

The company announced the financing and Agentic Identity Suite on September 22, 2026. The launch extends its business-verification network to software authorized to transact on behalf of people and companies.

Baselayer says its existing identity and risk infrastructure serves more than 2,300 financial institutions and payments companies. Its next product focus is giving those institutions a way to verify which agent they are dealing with and what it can do.
