United Airlines Ventures invests in Assaia to develop airport gate-planning tools
The investment backs a new product for airline and airport stand allocation.
Planning stands as operations change
StandManager is part of Assaia’s ResourceManager platform, which combines operating information and business rules with shifting conditions to help airlines and airports allocate stands and gates. The product applies the company’s artificial-intelligence and computer-vision technology to airport operations.
The support from United’s venture arm follows the company’s push to extend its tools beyond turnaround monitoring. Assaia says it is building StandManager for complex airline and airport environments across the wider aviation industry.
