Anew Labs raises $290m at $1.5bn valuation for AI drug discovery
The funding will expand Anew Labs’ computational biology, research and automated laboratory capabilities.
Combining molecular models with laboratory testing
Anew Labs is building an AI drug-discovery platform that models proteins and molecular interactions, designs synthetic proteins and predicts how drug candidates may interact with biological targets. The company combines computation with automated laboratory testing to advance discovery and lead optimization.
The financing values Anew Labs at $1.5 billion and will support GPU infrastructure, computational biology, machine-learning and chemistry research teams, and wet-lab validation. ByteDance, from which the company spun out earlier in 2026, retains a 56% controlling stake, according to the announcement.
