Anemo Labs raises £700,000 pre-seed to develop its electronic nose
The UK startup is advancing an AI-enabled sensor platform designed to detect disease-related signals in bodily fluids, with further work on sensor chemistry, labelled data and clinical validation.
Reading chemical signals
Anemo Labs is building an electronic nose that pairs proprietary sensors with AI to analyse volatile organic compounds. Its olfactory chip is designed to detect multiple compounds in parallel, initially in samples such as urine, as the company investigates signals associated with disease.
The platform is still in development, so the financing supports validation work rather than a finished screening product. Anemo plans to refine its sensor chemistry, expand the collection and labelling of smell data, and continue testing the diagnostics platform with clinical partners.
