AnaCardio raises €62.5 million Series B for heart-failure drug candidate
AC01 is an oral ghrelin-receptor agonist designed to improve cardiac contractility through calcium sensitization.
An oral candidate for cardiac contractility
AC01 is an oral ghrelin receptor agonist designed to increase cardiac contractility through a calcium-sensitizing mechanism. In its Phase 1b/2a GOAL-HF1 study, the company reported a 22% increase in cardiac output and a 4.8 percentage-point improvement in ejection fraction after four weeks; results were published in The Lancet in June 2026.
Moving into GOAL-HF2
AnaCardio’s September 30 announcement said its randomized Phase 2b GOAL-HF2 study was expected to enroll its first participant in Q4 2026. The study will evaluate two AC01 doses over 12 weeks in about 400 patients across approximately 100 sites in North America and Europe.
