Amyl Therapeutics adds €8.25M to Series A for amyloid immunotherapy
Its platform targets a shared structure across multiple toxic protein aggregates and is designed to improve delivery to the brain.
Targeting a shared feature of amyloid disease
Amyl Therapeutics is developing an engineered fusion protein that recognizes a common structure shared by multiple toxic amyloid aggregates. The approach is intended to neutralize these fibrils across amyloid-driven diseases, while a brain-shuttle component is designed to help the candidate cross the blood-brain barrier.
The €8.25 million Series A extension brings the round’s reported cumulative total to €27.85 million. Noshaq and Mérieux Equity Partners are among the backers. Amyl remains in preclinical development; the company says the new financing will help complete candidate work for GMP manufacturing and generate the remaining in-vivo efficacy and safety data.
