Adaptyv Bio raises $40m Series A for automated protein-testing labs
Highland Europe leads the round, with ACE Ventures, byFounders and Y Combinator returning as Adaptyv prepares a second laboratory in London.
More experiments behind AI-designed proteins
Adaptyv says laboratory throughput increased more than fivefold over the preceding year and it added over 100 customers, including Chai Discovery, Boltz, Roche and Novo Nordisk. The financing follows that growth in demand for experimental validation of computational protein designs.
A recent collaboration with Anthropic demonstrated the loop the company wants to support: Claude designed proteins, sent them to Adaptyv’s wet lab and received experimental measurements. Scaling that process requires physical testing capacity alongside advances in design software.
The company announced the round on 25 August. Its planned London site adds a second location to its Lausanne operation, with the new office and laboratory scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2026.
