The ETH Zürich spin-out is working to increase the number of qubits that fit on a chip. Its approach combines electric and magnetic fields so ions can be arranged and moved beyond the constraints of a single chain.
The company has demonstrated a nine-ion array with ETH researchers using chips fabricated by Infineon. It is developing the research and manufacturing capabilities needed to scale toward larger processors for practical applications.
