Waymo operates an autonomous ride-hailing service built on its Waymo Driver technology. Riders book trips in vehicles that navigate public roads without a human driver at the wheel.

The Alphabet business combines driving software, sensing hardware and fleet operations. It has expanded its commercial service across US cities and is preparing further international deployments.

By October 2026, Waymo said it had launched service in its fifteenth US city. Its expansion requires both continued development of the driving system and the vehicles and operating infrastructure needed to serve more trips.
