Product
Tivano develops carbon removal projects that clear excess woody vegetation from degraded savanna in Namibia. It places the harvested biomass in engineered underground vaults designed to limit decomposition and keep the carbon out of the atmosphere for long periods.
The Zurich company sells carbon removal credits to fund this work and partners locally on harvesting, storage and restoration. The model combines carbon storage with recovery of land affected by bush encroachment, rather than burning the removed vegetation.
