Growing a feed ingredient at useful scale

Sunshiki is developing feed products from Asparagopsis seaweed, which has been studied for reducing methane produced during cattle digestion. Its core work is cultivating the seaweed reliably and processing it while preserving the relevant active compounds.

The Tokyo company draws on Kochi University research and has demonstrated stable cultivation in commercial-scale test tanks. It is working toward product commercialization, with cultivation cost and consistent supply central to the development effort.
