Rhea Soil Health helps smallholder farmers understand their soil and choose suitable fertiliser. Its portable AgriPad combines field sensors with machine learning to produce soil diagnostics and recommendations that farmers can receive by SMS.
The Nairobi company was founded by Priscilla Wakarera and Soinato Leboo. It works through agronomists and a farmer network to bring testing closer to farms, with Kenya as its initial market and Tanzania among its expansion plans.
