Combining lasers for optical interconnects
The Eindhoven company combines light from multiple lower-power semiconductor lasers to supply optical interconnects in AI data centres. Its architecture supports multiple wavelengths and is designed to work across several indium phosphide foundries.
Lower power density reduces sensitivity to manufacturing defects. Photon Bridge aims to improve production yield as optical connections move closer to processors and demand for laser sources grows.
