MOA Foodtech uses AI-guided fermentation to turn agricultural and food-processing byproducts into functional protein and ingredient products for food and pet-food manufacturers. Its models help select suitable microorganisms and process conditions for each feedstock; the company also offers custom development and modular systems for valorising starch-rich side streams.
MOA’s AI tool helps identify a microorganism suited to a particular byproduct and guides fermentation and downstream processing. The resulting microbial biomass can be developed into functional ingredient products such as MOA YEAST and MOA Q5. Customers can buy ingredients, co-develop a product from a specific byproduct, or use MOA Box, a modular turnkey approach for starch-rich side streams that pairs the process with a technical and economic roadmap.
The mechanism is designed to shorten ingredient development and use existing feedstocks more efficiently. MOA describes its products as already being produced at industrial scale and positions its process for applications across food and pet food.
The company serves food manufacturers and ingredient customers, including applications in bakery, sauces and pet food. A September 2026 financing announcement said commercial ingredient validation had been completed and funding would support product launches and an increase in partner bioreactor capacity from 120,000 to 225,000 litres.
