From recorded conversations to usable evidence

Good Tape turns uploaded audio and video, or recordings from its mobile app, into transcripts with speaker labels and summaries. Journalists, researchers, consultants and other teams can organize those recordings into projects instead of manually transcribing and filing each interview. The company says it supports more than 100 languages and stores its core service data in the EU without using customer material to train models.

Explore, launched in October 2026, searches the transcripts in a tape, project or full archive. It surfaces relevant earlier passages while a user reads and answers questions with a source file and timestamp attached. A journalist revisiting a subject can use it to find an earlier contradictory statement or supporting interview and return to the recording before using the quote. The product page marks insights from colleagues’ interviews as coming soon.

An optional connector also lets supported AI tools retrieve the user’s transcripts, summaries and notes directly. This public-beta integration is read-only and disabled until the user enables it; material sent to an external AI tool then follows that provider’s data policies. It extends the recording workflow into the tools users already write and analyze in.
