Connecting training, field experience and employer demand
Frontline Gig helps contractors, public agencies and workforce programs turn project tasks into supervised paid opportunities for people entering the trades. Partners identify work and readiness requirements, recruit through community networks and organize short field experiences. Participants build a record of what they can do, while employers and training programs use that experience to guide the next gig, course or employment opportunity.
The platform currently lists paid work such as tree tagging and neighborhood inspection in Pittsburgh, with applications open. Frontline says it has engaged more than 1,000 people across field experiences and other workforce pathways, and names Pittsburgh’s Forestry Division among its partners. Its Talent Marketplace makes opportunities visible; continued development of CrewUp will help local leaders organize small project teams. Expansion to New York and New Orleans is planned for early 2027.
