Conway Research develops on-device personal AI, including the Underdog assistant and Husky inference engine.
Product
Conway Research builds personal AI designed to run on users’ own devices. Its Underdog assistant uses the company’s Husky inference engine to perform everyday tasks while keeping personal information on local hardware.
Founder Sigil Wen began an invite-only beta in October 2026, initially for Mac and Windows computers. Further operating systems and mobile devices are planned as the team works to make smaller models more useful on consumer hardware.
The company plans to offer the assistant without a subscription or advertising, taking a small share of payments it facilitates instead. Running inference locally is intended to keep its computing costs low enough to support that model.
