Alteon is developing autonomous fixed-wing aircraft for organizations that need persistent aerial observation.
Alteon's aircraft is designed to remain aloft for extended periods, with the company stating a goal of up to a year. Intended monitoring uses include infrastructure, maritime activity, weather and search and rescue, where frequent recovery and relaunch can limit coverage.
Company materials describe wind-responsive flight control and an autonomously flown subscale prototype. The aircraft remains in development and demonstration; the endurance target is a stated goal rather than a demonstrated operating capability.
