Wingit joins Surge 12 with a beauty service built around trying before buying

Peak XV’s cohort announcement puts the Indian startup alongside Nexus Venture Partners; the company’s investment amount was not disclosed.

Wingit brings a product trial to the customer’s home. A beauty advisor arrives with testers and sealed full-size makeup, skincare or fragrance products. Customers try them on their own skin, get application guidance if they want it and buy only what they choose to keep. The format addresses the difficulty of judging a shade, texture or scent from an online listing.

The service is preparing its wider launch in India’s National Capital Region. Its current site accepts trial-box requests and describes how appointments work, while marking the NCR launch as coming soon. Surge’s company profile names Nexus Venture Partners as a co-investor. The cohort report’s $7m figure refers to Wingit’s cumulative funding, rather than the size of this investment.
