Life Lab Resources raises $1m Pre-Series A to turn food waste into feed ingredients

Decarb123 led the round as the Singapore company expands an early commercial bio-refinery operation.

Life Lab connects two processes: handling food waste and making microbial protein. Its WasteMaster system turns discarded food into a substrate, which is then fermented with food-grade microbes and dried. The resulting ingredient is intended for companies formulating animal and aquaculture feed, creating another use for material discarded by food-service businesses.

The company lists WasteMaster installations at Singapore hotels and caterers, including Marina Bay Sands and SATS Catering. Those deployments sit upstream of its early commercial bio-refinery. In the financing announcement, Life Lab says it holds Singapore Food Agency licensing for conversion of mixed food waste into animal feed and ISO 22000 certification.

What the funding supports

  • Expand Singapore bio-refinery production infrastructure
  • Optimize processing and commercialize fermentation technology
  • Prepare phased regional expansion
