Funl raises $2.5m at a $10m post-money valuation
Nearly 20 private investors back the creator event platform. A separate $150,000 Nebraska prototype grant adds development support.
Founders Bryan Olesen and John Wooten developed the idea after touring with VOTA, when open dates and requests from nearby fans made smaller events appealing but uncertain to book. They began experimenting with house concerts before turning advance demand into a platform.
Fans submit private bids for an experience, and a creator sets a hidden reserve. Only winning bidders are charged once that reserve is met; if it is missed, the event does not run. The model can apply to performances, training sessions and workshops, where traditional ticket sales leave the creator committed before demand is clear.
What the funding supports
- Develop event-demand platform
- Expand creator adoption
