Funl

An event crowdfunding platform where creators test demand through private fan bids, then commit to an experience only after a minimum funding threshold is reached.

From an event idea to committed fan demand

Funl lets musicians, athletes and other creators propose an experience before committing to its production costs. Fans submit private bids for tickets, while the creator sets a hidden reserve: the minimum total needed to hold the event. When bidding closes, winning fans pay their own bid amounts only if that reserve has been met. If it is missed, the event does not go ahead and no bidder is charged. Creators can therefore see demand and pricing before arranging the experience.

Creators work with a Funl specialist to build an event page, then promote it to their existing audience. The platform shows bid activity and lets fans raise their offers after being outbid. It already has published examples of studio days, dinners and small artist gatherings, including a rehearsal-day experience with Russ Taff and Steve Taylor. The company earns a platform fee on successfully funded events and is developing the service to reach more creators and types of experience.
