DriveSimple raises £1.5M and appoints a new chief executive

Former Lola Market COO Andrea Romano takes the helm of the UK commercial-vehicle subscription business.

Vans for changing workloads

Tradespeople and delivery operators may need an extra van before they know how long the work will last. DriveSimple offers contracts starting at six months, with an optional arrangement for cancellation on three months’ notice. Customers choose their mileage and deposit terms, giving them more control over the commitment than a single fixed package.

After the initial term, a customer can continue on a monthly rolling basis at the same price and terms. That makes the end of a contract another point to adjust vehicle capacity to the workload. The latest investment brings the company’s total capital raised to £4.5M.

What the funding supports

  • Scale the van inventory
  • Introduce electric vehicles
  • Develop the underwriting and subscription technology

DriveSimple

Flexible van subscriptions for businesses and sole traders, with configurable contract length and mileage and monthly payments covering routine maintenance, road tax and tyre wear.
