Balwaan Krishi raises ₹100 crore Series B for small-farm machinery

FirstBridge India Growth Fund led the round as the equipment maker expands domestic production and its dealer network.

For a small farm, mechanization can mean replacing one labor-intensive task rather than buying a large tractor. Balwaan Krishi sells compact weeders, brush cutters, sprayers and reapers for field preparation, crop care and harvesting. Farmers can buy through dealers or online, then obtain spare parts and servicing through the company’s support network.

At the announcement, the business reported equipment used by more than 400,000 farmers and a network of over 800 dealers. That installed base makes distribution and after-sales support central to its expansion: a machine needs to remain usable through a growing season, with parts and repairs close enough to keep work moving. Connected equipment and predictive maintenance are part of its product development plans.

What the funding supports

  • Expand domestic manufacturing
  • Grow the dealer network in southern India
  • Develop connected agricultural equipment
