Alive App raises $1m for curated local experiences in India

Powerhouse Ventures and Flipkart Ventures backed the marketplace as it deepens its offering across six cities.

Alive helps people turn an activity idea into a booked outing: a pottery session, a coffee workshop, horse riding or a group experience. Customers compare dates, prices and ratings, while hosts deliver the sessions. The company also works with creators to design and launch experiences, giving it a role in shaping the supply available on the platform.

At the announcement, Alive reported more than 500 experiences and over 400 creators and partners across six Indian cities. It said its Bengaluru operation had completed its first profitable quarter. That city-level milestone provides context for its next phase: increasing the depth and repeat use of an existing local marketplace. Group planning, gifts and corporate outings give customers several ways to return beyond a single booking.
