Orb Energy manufactures solar panels and delivers rooftop and ground-mounted solar systems for businesses. Its team surveys a site, designs the installation and assesses the financial case before construction. Commercial customers can combine the equipment with financing to reduce the upfront expense, while an app tracks generation and savings after installation. The wider product range includes residential systems and battery storage.
The company is headquartered in Bengaluru, with its Africa operation based in Nairobi. That operation serves businesses including manufacturers, agricultural processors, healthcare providers and hotels facing expensive or unreliable power. CEO Damian Miller says Orb has already installed nearly 15 MW of rooftop solar for more than 60 commercial and industrial customers in East Africa. The current African expansion builds on those installations by developing additional projects and financing partnerships.
