How clinicians consult the evidence
OpenEvidence helps doctors and other clinicians look up medical evidence while treating patients. A clinician asks a question about treatment options, investigations or drug effects; the software synthesizes relevant research and provides citations back to original articles. Its content agreements include full clinical findings from NEJM and JAMA, Nature research, Cochrane reviews and NCCN oncology treatment algorithms. Clinicians use these answers alongside their own judgment and the patient’s circumstances.
The service is available on the web and through a mobile app, with free access for verified U.S. healthcare professionals. It also works through health-system partnerships: OpenEvidence says UTMB care teams can reach cited medical evidence from within their electronic health record, reducing the need to leave the clinical workflow to search. Its current content partnerships supply both journal literature and practical treatment guidance, so users can inspect the evidence behind an answer.
