Foundational
Laser-ranging hardware and orbital data for satellite operators to measure spacecraft positions more precisely and support mission decisions.
Product
From a laser pulse to orbital data
Foundational builds ground stations that fire laser pulses at satellites and time the return from onboard reflectors. Operators obtain measurements through its Origin data platform. The passive reflectors need no spacecraft power or data connection; the Retro-1 datasheet describes a flight-proven, qualified component for low Earth orbit.
The intended customers are satellite operators seeking better measurements for collision assessment, navigation and mission operations, as lead investor Inflection explains. The commercial network is being expanded. Foundational’s site marks raw ranging data as operational, while orbit products, validation and uniquely identifiable reflectors remain in development.
